Treatment Details

Optimised for light and darker skin, Lumecca treats a variety of skin types and conditions, such as benign pigmented epidermal lesions, including dyschromia, hyperpigmentation and ephelides (freckles), superficial vessels, skin texture and/or photodamage.

Lumecca IPL technology offers a range of advantages over other IPL Treatments.

  • High efficiency of treatment due to high peak power and optimised output.
  • Complete photorejuvenation in 1 or 2 treatments for most patients versus 4-6 treatments with standard IPLs.
  • Reduces treatment time thanks to large spot size and high pulse repetition rate.
  • A strong sapphire cooling tip results in higher treatment comfort.

Frequent Questions

Answered By Dr Aman

How many treatments do patients generally require?

It will depend on how deep your pigmentation or vascular lesion is. Many people see improvement after one treatment.

What should I expect during the treatment process?

Goggles will be provided to protect your eyes from the light emitted from Lumecca™. During the procedure, IPL gel will be applied to the treatment areas. Then the handpiece will be gently placed on the skin. The handpiece will be moved around until all the areas are treated. The treatment typically takes 15 – 45 minutes.

Is there any downtime?

Typically there is little to no downtime associated with Lumecca™ treatment. As a reminder, in the first 2-3 days after the treatment, you might see a darkening of pigmented spots, then it will flake off. We recommend you avoid direct sunlight and heat-inducing activities while your skin heals.
